The Diploma Course has been developed by the Society of Cosmetic Scientists and successfully delivered by distance learning for more than 15 years. It is regularly updated to keep abreast of developments in technology and legislation. It has now moved online!

THE FIRST CASE-STUDY COURSEWORK IS NOW AVAILABLE TO VIEW AS OF 8TH JANUARY 2020 AND THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE DATE FOR THE FIRST CASE-STUDY IS 5PM ON WEDNESDAY 29TH JANUARY. IF YOU HAVE AN AGREED EXTENSION FOR YOUR CASE-STUDY PLEASE ENSURE THAT IT IS SUBMITTED BY THE DATE AND TIME YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN. SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED AFTER ALL DEADLINE DATES WILL BE CAPPED. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE SUBMITTED YOUR CASE-STUDY AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM THE EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR, THAT MEANS WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR CASE-STUDY AND THIS IS USUALLY BECAUSE NOT ALL THE UPLOAD STEPS HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANY ASPECT OF THE CASE-STUDY, PLEASE CONTACT THE EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR WHO WILL HELP YOU.

FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHO NEED TO RE-SUBMIT THEIR ESSAY COURSEWORK, PLEASE NOTE THE RE-SUBMISSION DEADLINE DATE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN AND AFTER UPLOADING, PLEASE CONTACT THE EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR TO CHECK YOUR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN RECEIVED FOR RE-MARKING.

If you are unsure how to upload your case-study coursework, please refer to the following instructions:

  1. When you first log-on online into the main gateway page, you need to go to the Assessment Centre (Click the orange bar at the bottom of this page)
  2. You will then see the coursework title headings in the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Click on the heading for 'Case Study One'
  4. Once you have done this you will see a line of underlined text asking you to click on the pdf icon within the main page area. This will then download the case-study pdf to your system. Unlike the essay uploads, you will find the upload for the case-study coursework underneath pdf coursework item. This will show regardless of whether you click on the Case Study One heading, or the ‘Titles’ heading directly underneath. (Unlike the essays there is not a choice of titles for the Case-Studies, students all work on the same title)

Follow the instructions to upload your file, by pressing the blue upload button and selecting your case-study from your system.

Once you have done this you need to press the 'green' save button, which will take you to a new page.

Once there you will see a tick with the wording 'SUBMIT FOR MARKING' click on this and a message box will appear.

To complete the submission, you must click the 'Submit your note' button and we will receive a notification here and will respond to you to confirm your coursework has been received.

This final step is really important, there is no need for you to add any message in the box, but without clicking on the 'Submit your note' button your work will not be available to the markers to view.

If you have any problem with this process you must contact the Education Administrator before your submission deadline passes.

Before you enrol you need to complete an online application form. You can do this on the Distance Learning in Cosmetic Science website. Once you have enrolled you will be provided with access keys to get into the four modules, which you can link to once you have logged in below.
